Sony's PlayStation Network got hacked: sensitive personal data has been stolen

A major data theft incident has hit Sony this weekend.

Although we are still investigating the details of this incident, we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following information that you provided: name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID. It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may have been obtained.

If that would not be worse enought Sony is not sure if the attacker(s) also have stolen credit card information. Security specialists think, the attack is motivated by geohot-sympathizers.

We didn't do it; Sony incompetent

The internet phenomena Anomynous released a statement claiming that it wasn't them, but they could not rule out the possibility that "Anons have acted by themself".

Anonymous DDOS'ed Sony several times earlier this month.
